Jack K. Hsu
Chief Technology Officer
Back in the early 90’s, Jack Hsu, a virtual Picasso of video and media engineering, was having lunch with a friend who happened to work at Total Media Group. Since they were just around the corner from TMG, this friend asked Jack to take a look at an ailing VTR. Jack liked the environment so much he decided on the spot to work for Total as the freelance video engineer they had been looking for. After a couple of years of freelancing, TMG realized they needed his amazing talents full-time and he was hired as chief engineer. He repaired and maintained anything from Mac and Windows computers to broadcast VTR’s and all types of video editing and graphics systems. He designed and engineered complete systems. He, along with Aldo Panattoni, Founder, was awarded a patent for a new system to create instant video dubs on location.
Whenever he was presented with new software or hardware he wasn’t familiar with, he taught himself within days or even hours. Nothing daunted him. In 1999, much to the dismay of all of us at TMG, Jack received an offer he couldn’t refuse from one of the world's largest DVD replicators, Infodisc, and he took the position of Director of Engineering. After designing and building a brand new facility from ground up in Texas, Jack realized he missed his home at TMG, and in 2004 we welcomed him back with open arms. TMG has never looked or run better.
